Great places for girls to go on tour
It’s always great to go on holiday, whoever you go with. But a trip with a bunch of your girlfriends can sometimes be the most fun. You’re all like-minded, and if you’re planning a trip together, you’re likely to all want to do similar things.
Whether you’re all sun-worshippers, or like to do active things during the day such as paddleboarding, or maybe skiing and snowboarding in the winter, or you’d rather spend your days shopping and at the spa, we will help you decide what kind of destination to choose. Wherever you go, though, if you’re a close group of friends, the likelihood is that you’re going to have a blast, and just being together will be the focal point of your trip.
For some inspiration on where to head on the next girls’ long weekend – or longer if you can all co-ordinate diaries far enough in advance to book the same time off – have a look at what the destinations below have on offer.
Superb St Tropez

It’s long been the place to party on the French Riviera, and there is a huge choice of different hotels in fabulous St Tropez, but for a really cool stay in the thick of the action, then head to the Kontiki village where you’ll find bijoux beach hut accommodation directly on the sands of beautiful Pampelonne beach. You won’t be roughing it by any stretch of the imagination, though. These ‘huts’ are air-conditioned and come equipped with all mod cons including wifi.
There’s even a dishwasher; although you might not be planning on doing any cooking! You’ll feel like you’ve arrived on an exotic Thai beach without the ten-hour flight. Just a short stroll along the sand will take you to some of St Tropez’s most famous beach restaurants – Club 55, Nikki Beach and plage de Tahiti.
Hedonistic Las Vegas
Sin City has always been a great place for girls on tour to have some fun. As well as the casinos and the chance to try your luck at the poker and blackjack tables, there are some amazing live shows that you can catch while you’re in town. With more and more celebrities like Britney Spears and Mariah Carey doing Vegas residencies each year, you could plan a trip to coincide with one of your favourite performers’ shows, or just take a flier and see what’s on when you get there.
If you’re not feeling confident about your gambling skills, you can always play online slots and other casino games before you fly out to Vegas, or even while you’re there having some chill-out time in your lovely hotel room before going out for the night. Las Vegas accommodation choices are almost endless; from high-end luxury like you’d find in one of the big casino hotels such as the MGM Grand or the relatively bijou Cromwell (which with only 188 rooms is very exclusive compared with most Vegas hotels) through to any of the more basic hotel chains like Red Roof Inn or Howard Johnson that you’ll find further from the Strip. It all depends on how much you want to pay on where you rest your head versus having more spending money in your wallet for the duration of your trip.
Adventure combined with pampering
For anyone who loves being treated to massages, facials and other detox treatments, but doesn’t like to simply laze around at a spa for a whole weekend, the Spring Creek Ranch Wilderness Adventure Spa in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, provides the perfect mix. You can join in activities as varied as hot-air ballooning, horseback riding, skiing or dog-sledding and afterwards ease your aching muscles with a huge range of pampering treatments such as the the Divine Detox or the Teton Forest Massage at the Spa.
It’s an ideal choice if you’re a mixed bunch of girls who might choose to do different things during the day and meet up for a good old gossip in the Spa and over dinner at the end of the day.
Whatever kind of girls’ holiday you’re looking to have, just make sure that everyone who’s going is happy with the destination that you’ve chosen and has a chance to have some input to the plans. That way, everyone will feel that they’ve helped to plan what will no doubt be a trip to remember.
