Fashion Trends Fall 2017

Fashion Trends Fall 2017

With the summer officially ending and fall creeping upon us, its time to update your wardrobe. In this blog we will help you decide which new clothes to buy by looking at a few key fashion trends shown on the catwalks.

1. A lot more volume

All pieces of clothing are becoming wider, especially in the shoulder area. Skirts, sweaters and coats will become significantly wider. And while the slim fit jeans will stay a staple, we will also see pants becoming wider and wider. The waist however will stay slim fit. Big and broad belts will exemplify the waist.

2. Unique sleeves

We will see some unique applications of sleeves this winter. A lot of innovation this fall will be seen in sleeves. We will see longer sleeves, sleeves with ribbons, wrinkled bowls or sleeves made out of a combination of different materials. The infamous puff sleeve will also make a return.

3. One color all the way

Last winter we already saw the all black outfit becoming popular. This fall this trend broadens to other colors. Also denim. From head to toe one color and sometimes even same colored shoes.

4. Jeans and denim

Denim, jeans and jackets will stay very popular. Inspired by Gucci a lot of jackets and jeans will be decorated with embroidery and patches.

5. The return of velvet

Velvet is making a triumphant return. The fabric is being used in skirt, jackets, trouser and even suits. Velvet will provide a luxurious appearance.

6. Ugly sneakers

Following the example of Raf Simons and Balenciaga a lot of fashion brands will come with their own version of the ugly sneaker. They are intentionally ugly and are meant to be worn with tailored trousers and oversized jackets.
We hope this short insight into the most popular fashion trends will help to make a decision when upgrading your wardrobe for the fall!
