Las Ramblas Boulevard
La Rambla is a street in central Barcelona, popular with tourists and locals alike. A tree-lined pedestrian mall, it stretches for 1.2 kilometres connecting Plaza de Catalunya in the centre with the Christopher Columbus Monument at Port Vell.
Although this street is a tourist magnet and its wares are hugely overpriced, you simply cannot miss Las Ramblas Boulevard with just one day in Barcelona. Enjoy its atmosphere just as it is, filled with street artists, street markets, and art – but stick to browsing only.
Las Ramblas Boulevard is a popular tourist attraction in its own right.
Human Statues and Shopping time!
Las Ramblas Boulevard is famous for street performers including human statues. There are dozens of restaurants and shops along the full length of the Barcelona Las Ramblas.
Monumento a Cristoforo Colombo
Located at the end of the famous Las Ramblas Boulevard, and just up from the harbor, the “Mirador de Colon” is the perfect spot for a panoramic view over Barcelona. Simply grab a ticket and take the elevator up the 51 meters to the top of the Cristobal Columbus statue – with few other tourists around, you might even get the fantastic views all to yourself!
The Columbus Monument is a 60 m tall monument to Christopher Columbus at the lower end of Las Ramblas Boulevard. It was constructed for the Exposición Universal de Barcelona in honor to Columbus first voyage to the Americas.
