Plaza De Catalunya

Plaza De Catalunya

Plaza de Catalunya is a large square in central Barcelona that is generally considered to be both its city centre and the place where the old city and the 19th century-built Eixample meet.

The very heart and commercial center of Barcelona, this square was built in the 19th century and is today the meeting point between Barcelona’s old town and the newer neighborhood of Eixample. From here, you can start your exploration of the city’s most popular streets – Passeig de Gracia and La Rambla both lead off Plaza de Catalunya.

The central hub for al things Barcelona

Amazing, a very nice, big , spacious square surrounded by nice streets where sb can stroll around, have a coffee or a snack, go shopping. The Plaza itself has many nice buildings, El Corte Ingles, but also a nice Apple shop is to found there. To experience Barcelona outside of the mass tourists, please walk into one of the streets from Plaza de Cataluna. Nice shops, less people.

Believe me, worth a look, very busy bustling area, hard to miss.
