Playa De Ses Illetes
This is the flagship of Formentera, with the nature of the island to be seen at its best here. Vast sand dunes merge with flat rocks and endless areas of soft sand which slope gently into the shimmering turquoise sea. Playa de ses Illetes is the most popular beach of Formentera and in spite of being located in a conservation area, has plenty of amenities.
Playa De Ses Illetes is a beautiful virgin and wonderful beach is characterized by the fact of not being very big, it has fine-grained white sand, very gentle slope (at 50 metres from the beach there is a depth of 1,5 metres) and the orientation is toward west.
Fantastic beaches both sides of the dunes
Playa de ses Illetes is suitable for
The sandy beach of Playa de ses Illetes is a long stretch of coastline on a narrow peninsula in the north of Formentera. It is by far the most popular beach in this area and symbolises the beach paradise of Formentera with its vast sand dunes behind spacious sandy areas which slope gently into the turquoise-coloured sea giving it a Caribbean flair. Towards the north Playa de ses Illetes merges with Playa Llevant, forming a unique coastal setting with seemingly endless beaches and great views of the nearby island of Isla de Espalmador and the south coast of Formentera.
Every beach is unique. Apart from how the beach looks and its surroundings it is mainly the people and the amenities here which give the beach its character.
- The beach is well-equipped, is easy to get to and is safe – an ideal beach for families.
- Wind and waves are ok here and therefore the beach is popular with water-sports enthousiasts.
- There is nothing going on at this beach and no party in sight for miles.
Relaxing colors
Gaze at the horizon and discover the immensity of a turquoise sea… And enjoy the sunshine almost all year round, or the island in bloom in the spring.
It’s a true paradise! Everybody needs to see this once in a lifetime. This wasn’t the first time I went to Playa De Ses Illetes. When I was a young kid I have been there before with my parents.
How To Get There?
Totally worth the 1.5hr walk from La Savina to enjoy the crystal clear waters and golden sands. BELIEVE ME!!
There are two water-sports outlets, several restaurants and you can also sail from here by catamaran to the nearby island of Isla de Espalmador.
