Typically, for Ibiza, the better the beach, the harder it is to find. And getting to this one can be a bit of a trial, so you just know it’s going to be worth it.
Searching for your own little slice of paradise? Refreshingly untouched, Cala Olivera is a serene cove with nothing but crystalline sea, clear skies, clean fresh air and rocky coast as far as the eye can see. Finding your inner peace here is easy, if on your travels around Ibiza, you manage to find this true hidden gem of a beach! It’s like the pot of gold at the end of a Mediterranean rainbow.
Nestled between rocks, the small, quiet bay of Cala Olivera with its crystal clear water offers a great natural setting. The beach is well worth a visit if you are looking for relaxation in calm surroundings and a limited offering of food and drink. On the east coast of Ibiza Cala Olivera borders the exclusive villas of Roca Llisa, with a large golf course also nearby.
The journey by car takes about half an hour from Ibiza town. There is a car park next to the beach at the gravel road.
The beach has plenty of areas to lie on the soft sand, or to relax on sun-loungers if you prefer. There are a few large stones in the water, but you don’t particularly need footwear to cool off here. On a slightly higher level at the rear of the beach is a small Chiringuito serving fish dishes, snacks and cocktails. In spite of its exclusive location the beach makes a simple, down-to-earth impression.
At the western end of the beach a narrow path leads to a rock ledge. You can head here to enjoy the tranquillity and the view of two small offshore islands and then cool off by jumping into the deep blue sea.
